Steam-based power management with protection and load shedding
By connecting AGC Steam controllers with AWC 500 controllers running our Steam Turbine Governor application, you can set up an efficient power management system that includes several turbines and their breakers. You can integrate several protection features in the power management architecture and achieve several benefits:
· You can integrate MVR protection relays at all breakers to protect the entire installation from overvoltage and other fault scenarios.
· You can configure AGC Steam controllers to distribute the load between your turbines and synchronise them quickly and efficiently. Each turbine will run as closely as possible to its optimal duty point, and the networked controllers ensure uninterrupted control even if one controller fails.
· The power management system can also include AGC mains and bus tie breaker controllers that prioritise turbine or mains power according to your priorities and divides the busbar into sections as needed.
· DEIF offers a customised Load Shedding application on our AMC 600 hardware, ensuring that demand does not outstrip supply and helping you maximise steam turbine efficiency.
You can control and monitor the entire power management system using AGI 400 series displays or from a third-party SCADA system. And you can use DEIF’s Insight remote monitoring tool to supervise the system from your smartphone wherever you are.
